Sunday December 20th the Dominiak Cues Northeast 10-Ball Tour came to Springfield, MA for tour stop #7 at the popular Snookers’s Billiards. The tour would like to thank Snooker,s and the staff for being a great host to the tour.

Early morning mother nature had decided to bring us a snowstorm in the northeast, but despite the conditions the tour decided to stay on schedule and we saw many tour regulars walk in the door ready to play.

The top half of the winners bracket would see Chip Tibbets making his way to the hot seat match with wins over Mike Wheeler in the opening round, then 2 more wins over Rogers Hill and tour photographer Rob Francoeur. The bottom half of the winners side would see tour point standings leader Chuck Hill make his way to the hot seat to play Chip with wins over Jerry Brayson in the opening round, then wins over tour regulars Brandon Charin and Andy Decker. The hot seat match would prove to be very close between Chip Tibbets and Chuck Hill, but Chip displayed steady shotmaking to send Chuck to the 1 loss side and earned his spot in the finals.

The 1 loss side would see tour regular Brandon Charin take wins over Brandon Ryan, Mike Wheeler and Rob Francoeur to meet up with Rogers Hill, who was also steadily making his way all the way through the 1 loss side with wins over Ray Belden, Choneyi Tenzin and Andy Decker. Brandon Charin and Rogers Hill would play each other to see who plays Chuck Hill for a spot in the finals. Rogers Hill played steady and took advantage of his opportunities to clinch this match and take on Chuck Hill next to see who makes the 1 race finals. This match between Chuck and Rogers would prove to be very close going hill/hill, but Chuck took advantage of an opportunity in the last game and won the match and earned his way to the finals and a rematch with Chip Tibbets. Congrats to Rogers Hill for a hard fought 3rd place finish.

Around 6pm the 1 set finals was called to the table between Chip Tibbets and Chuck Hill. Chip had sent Chuck to the 1 loss side in the winners side hot seat match and Chuck was ready for the rematch. Chuck took advantage of his opportunities early and gained a lead of 3-0, but Chip wasn’t about to give up and when he got his opportunity he battled back to make the score 3-2. Chuck would then take the next 2 games and get to the hill first in the 1 set race to 6 finals. With the score 5-2 Chip had a pretty dificult layout but had an open shot, he showed great shotmaking skills and ran out to close the gap to 5-3. The next game went back and forth with a couple safeties, but finally Chip had a small opening and took advantage and made a tough shot, but after leaving a long tough shot he wasn’t able to run out and let Chuck back to the table. Chuck took advantage and ran out to take home his first tour stop win of the season. Congrats to Chip Tibbets for a very good performance and strong 2nd place finish.
