The 2009 World Professional Billiards Championship will take place at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds from September 2 to 6.
Billiards legend Mike Russell, from Middlesbrough, won the title for the ninth time at the same venue last year by beating India’s Geet Sethi in the final.
The event is open to all billiard members of the WPBSA and entry packs have been issued. Any non-members wishing to enter must first join the WPBSA as a billiards member (for details on membership call 0117 317 8207). Closing date for entries is August 14, 2009.
Spectators are welcome, with free entry from September 2 to 4, £5 on September 5 and £10 on September 6. Tickets are available from the Northern Snooker Centre (0113 243 3015).
